Robot Dance

•Alright, the first thing people, is to do a little warm up. It is not necessary, but will help you to make your dancing moves come easily. So, just do a little mild jogging in a place, or just shake a little bit for 5-10 minutes, so that your blood starts circulating throughout your body.
•Now, stand in front of a mirror (a large mirror preferred). Dancing in front of a mirror will give you a good idea. If you need some music while you are dancing, then play some slow electronic dance beat music to help you. You can play technologic or robot rock by Daft Punk, or play my favorite song to do the robot dance which is boys noise by Erole Attack.
•Now, you start moving your limbs, like a robot. Wondering, how to robot dance? Simple, work in jerk like motions. First, start with your hands, and break down in jerk like motions where there are joints. For example, move your wrist down – then abrupt stop, then move the wrist to middle – abrupt stop, then move it to top – abrupt stop. This way move your elbow, shoulder. Look in the mirror to see if you are doing the stops and movements properly. Once you have learned how to move your hands like a robot, then start with your waist, then with neck, then with your legs.
•So, just keep breaking your motions at the major joints abruptly, and soon you will get the flow. Make sure you go slow in the beginning, and get the dance form right, then try some popular dance moves.
•Some of the popular dance moves are the arm sway move, where you need to let your arm stop and let go down, and let it sway in the air. Then you can try the famous Michael Jackson. Don’t know what I am saying? Then learn how to moonwalk. You can also try the arrested robot move, where you can arrest the movements of your various body parts and then shake them rapidly, and freeze in a broken down posture. Movies Songs Lyrics

The songs of movies or albums are based on the tunes and lyrics. You may think that writing a song is something that needs a formal training. But, it is not like that, the song lyrics are available around us everywhere and we only have to realize it and find them.

Getting a lyric writing idea is very easy by listening in to our daily conversations and by monitoring every kind of activities around us. There are so many ideas around us floating every second on the TV, magazines and newspapers and even in the school, office or pubs.

Once can start writing his or her thoughts like a story and then can easily transform those ideas into song lyrics with rhyme. After you start writing lyrics, just look for words that rhyme to match the lyrics rhyme. And if one cannot get the last lyrics words to rhyme, they could try to make the line rhyme halfway too. And it is not always that the lyrics rhyme has to be there in the songs. It is very important that you do not make the rhymes look like they have been forced to rhyme by adding some words at the end just because they rhyme. Instead of this, you can gibe your rhymes a natural flow into the lyrics.

Another important thing is that you should never pressure yourself to complete a song in just one seating. It can be easily understood that there are times when we cannot concentrate properly, so leaving it unfinished is not a big deal. You can jot the lines as and when they come in the mind and later you will be able to pick up the best ideas or phrases to finish your lyrics for a song. Like is said, practice makes a man perfect, this goes to the lyrics also…..more the lyrics you write, the better you become.

In order to ensure that you do not neglect the lyric writing, it is good to set aside a regular period in a day to write song lyrics, you can do it early in the morning as that time you feel very fresh, so you will get better ideas. And in this modern age, there are songwriting softwares available on the net for those who need instant song lyrics.

Write Lyrics For a Song

Wordplay.
Some songs are distinct because they contain plays on words. For example:
“You are my greatest mistake.” (Sheryl Crow)
“The only thing that looks good on me is you.” (Bryan Adams)

Mysterious.
Some songs seem compelling because of ambiguity (what does the singer actually mean?) or what the songs leave out. It leaves a person guessing. For example:

“I would do anything for love, but I won’t do that…” (Meatloaf)
“Because the night”
“Don’t call me daughter, not fair to me.” (Pearl Jam)

Unexpected phrasing.
Surprising people with a phrase that is totally unexpected can deliver a big effect. For example:

“I may not always love you…” in God Only Knows

Story.
Some songs tell a story or a tale of some interesting experience or encounter.

“A long, long time ago…” in Don McLean’s American Pie
“The Story of my Life” by Deana Carter

Question.
Many songs pose questions, some of which may not have answers. For example,

“Why do birds suddenly appear?” by the Carpenters
“What’s my name?”, “Who wants to know?”, “Who am I?”

Repetition.
Many songs use a repeated word or phrase. For instance, count the number of repeated words in the following songs:

“I Believe” by Blessid Union of Souls
“Every Breath You Take” by the Police

Cinematic.
Some songs have lurid, descriptive words that paint a scene:

“The screen door slams; Mary’s dress waves…’
“I see Maryanne walking away…”

Avoid cliches.. Unless you can add a new twist!
You should steer clear of the following cliches, unless you can add an unexpected, refreshing twist to them: Read the rest of this entry »

Music and Lyric Composition

Stories and points of view come from experiences, and your own learning is one way to pick up a great topic. Also, keeping in touch with your favorite artists can help you on a style you wish to follow. Building your own music can bring a sense of fulfillment for you get to document a point in your life or idea onto a music sheet you can share with your friends and family.

1. Point in your life: Experiences are one of the most common topics. Choosing a period where emotions were high can be very poetic when put into writing. Just remember to use metaphors; these phrases make crude thoughts less offensive and also hide your identity.

2. Certain person/inspiration: To write about a person you admire or had a good influence on you is another approach. If the idea comes straight from admiration, building the tune and words will somehow jive for positivity usually strikes a happy note in your emotions. Also, to build a song out of admiration can get you to influence others, which is very rewarding for you as a songwriter.

3. Political view: Letting out your oppositional thoughts over a certain topic or person in a community can be better expressed through music. With a more rhythmical approach, you’re your strong points will not come out offensive. Also through lyric writing, the creative flow can pacify your ill-mannered thoughts and somehow change your perception.

Plain melody: There are times when words are not needed to express your thoughts, and pure musical content can be very personal without people really noticing the intensity of the composition. This approach can be a good way for you to reveal your sentiments over something. With technology now, composing is much easier with computer-generated instruments; and setting up a mini gathering of your family and friends would be a good way for you to share a part of you; and to set the mood, having poster prints of your theme would add in entertaining your guests.
