Dixie Diner Virginia Beach Coupon Discount

As Henry Kissinger once said (but did not abide), “What will come out eventually must come out immediately.” People were stunned by my answers. Sure, I was using candor as a spin device, but Washington found it “refreshing.” Washington likes to think it finds candor refreshing, but honesty in this town is a novelty mint, not sustenance.

Nevertheless, the same frankness and irreverence that had been the “Jonah Eastman brand” for the last two years of the Truitt Administration had finally become my undoing. I was fired this morning.

Before I took my job as the President’s spokesman, I had been a Republican pollster. I specialized in handling difficult elections, ones that needed an unconventional boost. And, yes: My grandfather was the late Moses “Mickey” Price, the Atlantic City gangster known as “the Wizard of Odds.”

Despite its Nixonian whiff, let me be perfectly clear about something: I am not a gangster. My Edie wouldn’t have married a gangster, but she wouldn’t have married a choirboy either. She had choices and, at some level, knew what she was doing. I couldn’t have gotten to the White House being a cherub, and some of the runoff from Mickey’s jungle of shadows had crept into my frequency. While I am tempted to reinvent myself for the reader, I am no more immune from my environment than the mirror prophet with whom I share a name, the one in the Bible who tried to run from God and was swallowed by a big fish. Jonah was chosen by God to be in a sea of trouble and, in my more philosophical moments, I believe I was genetically predisposed to scandal. Anyhow, spinning at this stage would be a lie that runs counter to the spirit of my forced retirement from the lying business.

Officially, I wasn’t fired. I resigned. I did so after a few unfortunate catalysts put me in play. It began when the head of the Republican Party declared the current recession to be a “communications problem.” As Press Secretary, communications strategy fell under my purview. Then there was The Remark.

I made The Remark two days ago during a press conference after a suicide bomber — an erstwhile taxi driver from Yemen — blew himself up at a Phillies game killing twenty four people. Even though I was technically a Jerseyan, Philadelphia was the provenance of my “hometown” sports team. When asked by the White House correspondent for the Philadelphia Bulletin how I felt about the attack as a man who hailed from the region, I said, “It’s hard to believe Western civilization is going to be taken down by a bunch of cab drivers.” Read the rest of this entry »

Types of Mexican Music

As Mexican culture evolved with time, so did their music. With every historical period there was a new addition to the instruments, musical styles and rhythms. There were classical and folk sounds that were composed with regional influences and these styles traveled all over the land and out of the country to get global recognition. There are three main types of traditional Mexican music, which are the basics of the other styles that evolved from them. So, find out what is the music of Mexico all about, from the information put together below.

Mexican Son Music
One of the first or initial types of Mexican music was called the “Son”, which came into being in the 17th century. It was a combination of Spanish, Mexican and African traditional sounds which were also picked up from a number of regional parts. Instruments such as the vihuela and guitarron were some of the first musical instruments used during this period to make Mexican music. These played not only unique sounds, but they gave birth to music which is related to Mexico even today. There was a variation of musical styles in the Son too, which was based on regional differences. A few examples of these variations are; the Jalisco’s “son jaliscenses”, “son jarocho” from the region of Vera Cruz and others such as son calentano, son huasteco and son michoacano.

Mexican Mariachi Music
This type of Mexican music is the most popularly used by modern Mexican music artists. The word “Mariachi” was originally used to describe a group dance performed on a wooden platform, but later was used to refer to a particular music style. It is a term which is derived from the two native languages spoken in Mexico, viz; Nahuatl and Coca. This is a style of music which originated in the region of Jalisco and includes instruments such as violins, trumpets, a Spanish guitar, the vilhuela and the guitarron. This type of music of Mexico evolved into one of the most popular Mexican music and some great songs and compositions were made such as; “La Bamba”, “La Cucaracha” and “Cielito Lindo”. Choosing an iPad 2 Compatible Wireless Router

Most routers of old belong to the 802.11g/b/a standard with a single 2.4 GHz data transmission frequency. If you have such a router, though it will provide you decent WiFi Internet access speed for the iPad, it will be substantially slower when compared to the new 802.11n standard based dual band routers. So, it’s strongly suggested that you go for an upgrade and buy a dual band 802.11n based router, that offers up to 750 Mbps data transmission speeds.

According to Apple guidelines, it would be better to use two separate SSIDs (service set identifiers) for both the frequency channels of your dual band router. Make sure that you place your router in a position, which guarantees maximum coverage. Go for a router that has the latest security and encryption standards like the WPA2 with PSK (phase shift keying). In the next section, you’ll find four of the best routers in the market.

Best Wireless Router For iPad (2011)

There are several choices offered by most top wireless equipment brands. Here are four routers that offer the best overall features and super fast wireless Internet access for your iPad 2.

Apple Airport Extreme

For $179, the Apple Airport Extreme is a bit on the extreme side as far as the price is concerned, but it is one of the fastest routers that money can buy. Being from the Apple stable, it ensures compatibility with the iPad 2 offering simultaneous dual band transmission with three ethernet ports and one WAN port. This is the default choice for Mac loyalists.
